no communication between 5D software and Ruby sewing machine

I recently purchased a Ruby sewing machine and 5D embroidery software. I installed things according to the directions and activated my dongle. The first time I tried to send a design from the 5D software to the Ruby via the USB cable, I am being told “Communication Module not found on the machine” and I cannot do the transfer. I then resort to copying the design to a jump drive and getting the design from the jump drive to the Ruby that way. Anyone know why I can’t use the USB direct to do the Send1

  1. Have the machine plugged into the computer.
    In configure go to send 1 tab. Make sure that your machine is listed and click on embroidery machine communication. This should fix the problem.

  3. You should contact support, you have paid for it with your machine. I have problems everytime my antivirus renews and they are happy to help.

  4. I am having the same problem. I have had my Ruby for a year now and have been sending designs directly to my machine with no problems… until this morning. I keep getting an error that there is a communication problem; I think it is because the communication driver won’t load properly. Has anyone found a solution yet?

    Appreciate any suggestions.

  5. I had the same problem, but I went back into configure, turned the machine on and plugged it into my computer. I made sure that my machine was listed. I then listed send 1 to machine and send 2 from usb. I haven’t had a problem since – works all the time. You have to remember which one is for the machine. I had Vista and couldn’t get it to work so I took it off the laptop and purchased Windows 7 and haven’t had a problem since.

  6. I have had my Ruby Deluxe for one year and I have had nothing but problems first with my Ruby now with the Deluxe trying to get my laptop and sewing machine to play nicely together. They just don’t want to communicate. Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon setting up a new applique project (first time doing that), finally got everyone to get along. This morning I appliqued my first design, everything went pretty well. (I had to resize the design so a few funky stiches) Now I am trying to start the next project and nothing works. I closed down 5D software, turned off machine and started everything from scratch and get communication errors….Grrrrr Bah Humbug!!!

  7. I have never been able to get my computer and my Ruby to communicate. Loading designs on a jump drive. My husband is an electrical engineer and he can’t figure it out, either. I also can’t get the Monogram Wizard to work. It wants me to activate the dongle but won’t let me do it when I try.

  8. I had the same problem with my Ruby Deluxe. I couldn’t get the communication to work from USB for the update or get the computer to recognize the machine. My dealer said to try a different USB stick to install the update. That worked. She has recently had the same problem. As far as communicating with my computer I needed to tell the 5D software which machine I have, where to send the designs to, and that I was using a USB cable.

  9. I have a creative sensation, and I’m having the same issue. I did exactly as the instructions tell you to do. I uninstalled everything reinstalled everything and still the same thing. I remember the first time I use the this machine I had to change the cable that plugs to the computer not the USB. But I will be calling support to help me communicating with my sensation.   10. I’m having an error message come up that says Embroidery machine communication module not found. And I’ve been embroidering and it’s been working and now it’s not. I’ve unplugged everything restarted all up again and still I get the error message. It’s Sunday and I can’t call software support. I’m frustrated because it’s Christmas in two weeks and I have clients to finish and I can’t get it to transfer a design!
    Please help me

  11. I bought a ruby deluxe a few weeks ago and can not get the 5D embroidery to work at all. I also have tried help support and nothing can anyone give me any help.

  12. What is a jump drive? I purchased my Ruby Deluxe about 2.5 years ago. With working I didn’t have a lot of time. But now I am retired I have more time. This message comes up that there is no communication between the sewing machine and the computer. I didn’t get a CD when I bought the machine
