Nothing adds sparkling impact like metallic thread but it can be contrary. That is, unless you use Kingstar.
Although I have not had the opportunity to try Kingstar metallic thread myself, I have at least one friend who is more than qualified to testify on how wonderful it is for embroidery. I have also seen many comments to the same.
Metallic thread can be a nightmare. Many machine embroiderers avoid it altogether. Those that do use metallics, often use common tips for embroidering with metallic thread especially, slowing down your machine. Among the many accolades that I have seen for using Kingstar, is that you can stitch at full speed without any thread breaks.
