Serious Project Potential: 3D Name Banners

These banners are great for your favorite girlie girl or sports aficionado and are so easy to make!

Secrets of Embroidery Facebook Group member Melanie Robinson created these banners and the potential is enormous. You can spell out player names or the team name. These would also be big sellers at athletic events and fundraisers.

Letters are stitched in the hoop in the freestanding applique technique using designs from Ananda’s Divine Designs. The Eloise banner was made using the 3D Butterfly Alphabet and Banner. Letters are edged in decorative satin stitching and embellished with dimensional felt or organza flowers, leaves, and butterflies.

Finley was created using a combination of four sets: Soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. Letters are embellished with the sports’ respective balls.

Alphabets come in three sizes and the accent pieces are provided in nine different sizes and various options. Designs can be stitched as a freestanding applique banner or appliqued directly onto a project of choice.

Banner pieces are backed with felt, leaving a half-inch opening on each side for threading a cord or ribbon to hang.

Now is a great time to get these designs, too, as all are on sale. Wonderful project, Melanie!
