Project Potential: Stitching Up a Winter Wonderland

This tree skirt has been one of Secrets’ most popular designs the last two years. Looks like it is going for three!

Remember Grey is the New Neutral?  Secrets of Embroidery Facebook Group member Diane Roberts Pratt used a grey snowy winter fabric for the background of her Snowman Christmas Tree Skirt by Anandas Divine Designs with stunning results.

Marillyn Wale, another member of our Facebook group, used a fabric called Spooky Trees for her Snowman Christmas Tree Skirt and added the Christmas Tree Skirt Extension. The standard tree skirt design gives you a 32-inch diameter. Adding the extension takes it to nearly four feet in diameter.

Panels are stitched in separate pieces, in the freestanding applique style, with satin stitched edges.

Panels can be zig-zagged together to form the tree skirt and extension.

Both of these talented ladies did not use the satin stitch edging for each panel. Instead, they included enough fabric for a seam allowance.

Another Facebook group member, Nancy Wood Evers, also created a tree skirt with the extension. She finished her skirt panels with satin stitching and added a unique twist of her own.

Nancy customized her tree skirt using school colors of her grandchildren.

Snowman Christmas Tree Skirt Part 3 is now available, which adds an additional 14 inches to the first two parts.

Best of all, the designs are all 65% through December and, if you use code CM2020 at checkout, you can save an additional 10%.

Great job all around, ladies. Thank you for sharing!
