Change Satin Outlines to Redwork
Hi – I want to change the satin outlines on designs to redwork to cut down on stitching time. Can I do this using Embird? Thank you – Jennifer
Hi Jennifer,
Yes, you can replace satin outlines with Redwork but you would need to do this in Embird Studio. Open the design in Editor and then go to Edit/Edit in Studio. The design will open in Studio (you’ll need a registered version for this) . Select the Outline Tool and change the Parameters to Redwork. Adjust your stitch length settings if needed. Draw around your design where you wish the outline to be. Once it is done, select and delete the satin stitch outline. Make any necessary adjustments. Change the sewing order of your outline by dragging and dropping it in the Object Order screen.
Go to Design/Save as and save as a new file name. Then go to Design/Compile and take into Editor. Choose your file format and click OK.
You should be now ready to send the design to your machine and stitch it.
This is just a brief description of what to do but in my full Embird Studio tutorial I take you through all the commands in Studio. I hope this works for you. Best of luck.
Kind regards

Hi – I purchased the new pen tablet for use with Brother’s Quattro 6000D machine. At the time I didn’t realize it was programmed with satin stitches only. Do you know of a way to have it produce a triple stitch or outline stitch instead by using PE Design 7? I would be absolutely thrilled with the pen tablet if I could do redword with it. Thank you!

Hi Denise, What brand of Pen Tablet did you purchase? Is it a Pen Tablet that Brother has manufactured or is it a generic tablet that can be used in any program – not just in PE Design. A little more info will help me understand how to answer you.

Hi, I’m having a problem with my embird editor program.
Often, sometimes very often I keep getting an error message (embird 2013 (64-bit) X I/O error 32) do you have any suggestions as to
what I can do about it, please? It has been present for some time and I
thought it may correct if I reloaded the program, but it hasn’t. then I
thought it might improve after I updated the program ….. once again that didn’t help.
I’ve put up with it for a long time but the problem is becoming more
frustrating. Do you have any suggestions/ fixes for this problem.
It mainly occurs when I move stitch points around. Some of the items in
the object list disappear and sometimes the design disappears.
I love using embird,I just
wish I could get my program working ERROR FREE.
Thank you
Regards
Marg
