Digitizing Software – Embird or PE/Palette?
I recently traded my well-used Singer Futura 200 in on the top of the line Babylock Ellisomo machine. Imagine my chagrin when I discovered that this very expensive machine did not come with the basic digitizing software that I got with my much less expensive Singer. From searching the web, it looks like Embird is a better option for this function than the PE/Palette software. My question is: can you do the same things with Embird Studio that I could do with the Singer software – that is, take a clip art photo and digitize it virtually automatically? If not, is there another software option for doing this?

Hello,
I’m not familiar with your Singer software, but here’s some information about Embird:
Using Embird and Embird Studio (Digitizing Tools) you can import an image into the software background to use as a template for your digitizing. Embird Studio has a feature called the Trace Tool that allows you to convert a bitmap image (raster image) to vector design.
We have much more detail about this on our Embird page as well as wonderful tutorials from our Embird expert Carolyn Keber, who teaches Embird and Embird Studio in a step by step manner.
All Embird programs can be downloaded and used in trial version for up to 30 days before you need to purchase registration in order to keep using the programs.
If you would like to test the features, Embird can be downloaded from here .
Kind regards,

Hi there
I would be very surprised if you didnt discover the Embird Studio does FAR more than your Singer software. I am currently writing the V6 tutorial for Studio and there are so many wonderful features in this program that its a little unreal that we can buy it for such a low price. Other software of this kind is thousands of dollars. Its amazingly good value for money. Carolyn K.

Hi,
I have a question that is really bothering me. I have PE Design 6. The ONLY thing I’ve ever done with it is to use it to transfer a pre digitized design from my computer to my sewing machine.
Here is my delima, I am an artist and would enjoy learning how to digitize my own art work. In your professional opinion would would be the best and easiest to learn?:
1. Should I just simply purchase some tutorials for my PEDesign 6 and learn with it?
2. Purchase an upgrade and start learning with the new upgrade?
3. Purchase embird and learn it with a clean slate so to speak.
I’ve decided to go with what you suggest. I’ve posted this questions on SewForum and gotten a mixed bag of answers which only made me more confused.
Money is an issue, like with most people this day and age but I do NOT want it to be the deciding factor. I figured the upgrade would be about the same as the items I would need from embird – or – not spend any money and just learn what I have. Please Please help me.
Thank you,
Beth

I paid to have a 4×4 image digitized as a PES file. When I try to open it Palette 6.0 says it has too many stitches to save to a card. It has 37,217. What is the stitch limit for Palette 6.0 and the card reader?
Thank you.

Last night I decided to remove my Palette 6.0 from my computer so I could begin anew. I have never been able to get it to function and thought I’d just start over. Well, after removing it from my computer I put the CD into the drive and NOTHING! Can this expensive software only be put into my computer once?
I really do want to learn how to use my software!
I’ve had it for years and only recently decided to learn how to use it.
I have never taken lessons but managed to learn how to use my Elegante and now I’m ready to tackle the software I purchazsed so long ago.
Help please!
