Ultimate Box Software Problem

I have an Ultimate Box that was installed a few months ago.  One day when I clicked on a design I had downloaded from the net, the ultimate box program closed down.  Every time I tried to open that design the program closed.  Figuring the file was corrupted in some way, I deleted it.  Thereafter, every time I tried to open the ultimate box software it flashes briefly on the screen then closes immediately.  I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the software umteen times and the same thing happens every time.   I’ve called Vikant and left messages requesting help but they never call me back.

I recently loaded the software on another computer and it works fine but that computer is not connected to a printer or the internet…sigh.  I’m running Windows XP on both computers and have usb connection with the Ultimate Box.   On the original computer  I can open the software using the ”Run” command but then it won’t print and still closes down on it’s own.   The only thing I’ve noticed in uninstalling and reinstalling the software is that during the re-install process it does not ask for a serial number of the software but it did when I loaded it on the other computer.

Can anyone help me out with this.  I really need to do some print outs for placement purposes and I’m going crazy trying to figure this out and evidently Vikant doesn’t intend to help me.

Hi,

I was using Dakota Alphasizer and recently got a new computer.  My computer now has Windows Vista and the Alphasizer isn’t compatible.  Is there a program that does the same thing as the Alphasizer and is compatible with Windows Vista?

Thanks!!

Opening a Corel Draw File in Design Center

I have old PE design - 4.0 - and have been trying to open corel draw files (.eps) in design center to digitize.  They take a lot of work editing and I think there is probably a problem in how they are being saved.  Does anyone know how to save a file in Corel Draw so that I can open it as a vector file (Lines) in Design Center?

Happy 60th Birthday Carolyn Keber!

Filed under: Embird-Carolyn K, General Chat

Secrets of Embroidery would love to wish Carolyn Keber a Happy 60th Birthday.

Carolyn’s daughter Julie, organized a 60th “Surprise”  Birthday Party, which Carolyn has known about for ages, much to her daughter’s horror. :) Having family come to stay before the big day, it wasn’t hard to guess what was planned. And being a mother she can always pick up on when her children are trying to keep secrets.

You too can send Carolyn your wishes here and make her 60th even more special. We will be sure she gets to read them all.

Digitizing Software supporting ART Format?

I have a digitizing question. I have a Bernina Artista 200. I had purchased their embroidery software version 3 and of course now they do not support this anymore. I was thinking before I dish out another $2,000 approx. I would look to see if there is any other software out there that does ART formatting. Can anyone make a sugestion? I am in Canada so they would have to be able to ship to Canada.
Thanks everyone, this is my first time here.

Mac or PC to run 4D Embroidery Extra?

Filed under: Can You Help?, Husqvarna Viking

The dealer said to first look up websites that discussed problems with 4D software and Apple computers. That is why I am writing to the website.

I am in the process of getting a new computer. I have a Topaz 30 Husqvarna Viking machine and 4D Embroidery Extra software. The dealer told me that an Apple machine has better graphics to work with. I also want the music and movie editing capabilities of the Apple.

The dealer said that I could download my copy of Windows XP onto the Apple, buy Bootcamp or Parallel software to run 4D embroidery Extra. With bootcamp I could only run the computer with Windows XP working but I would have the entire memory of the computer working the software. With the parallel software the computer memory could be split and I could run both Apple and 4D at the sametime.

I am not sure if I should go with a IBM computer or an Apple for using my software.I would appreciate any comments you might have regarding your experiences running 4D embroidery on either an IBM or Apple computer.

Thanks,

Kim
