These Valentines are an Embroidered Work of Heart

The season of love is upon us. Stitch these projects for someone special!

Crazy Quilt Hearts from Molly Mine have been one of my favorite go-to designs for sharing the love. I have stitched several versions of the 4×4 size and popped them in a 5×7 frame so that the recipient can feel special all year long.

I added text to both of these for a heart-felt sentiment. All you need is an embroidery editing program that allows you to add and arrange fonts.

Both were stitched on a linen-look fabric that provided a vintage feel to the Valentines. ShapeFlex 101 interfacing was fused to the back of the fabric for added support.

For Crazy Quilt Hearts Part 1, I coordinated batik fabric colors and added the text You Are the Thread That Binds Us around the outside. This was a gift for my mother, the ultimate role model and the kindest, most selfless person I know.

Crazy Quilt Hearts Part 4 has an option that is perfect for your significant other. I made it for my husband using three shades of Michael Miller Fairy Frost. Because of the unique design, I added text that said You Fixed My Broken Heart.

You can always just stitch any of the heart designs by themselves. Coordinate fabrics to the recipient and embellish with gorgeous thread colors, buttons, beads, and charms. Add a lovely monogram to one of the sections.

These projects are also a great way to commemorate a birth, wedding or anniversary. Consider adding the name of the couple or new baby, a joint monogram, or the date of the birthday or wedding. It will be a cherished gift that is truly from the heart.
