GlitterFlex is a hot trend in machine embroidery applique and Independence Day designs are perfect for trying the technique.
This sample is very similar to this heart which is part of the 4th of July design set from Molly Mine.
Peel away the plastic carrier to expose the dazzling fabric. Use it just like you do any other applique fabric.
Stitch a placement stitch to show where the GlitterFlex goes, tack it down, and it easily tears away from the tack-down stitches. Continue placement and tack-down for the rest of the design.
This sample was stitched as a freestanding applique using a clear heat-away stabilizer. If you were stitching the applique on a shirt or other item, you would fuse the GlitterFlex to the item after tearing or trimming to the tack-down stitches.
After fusing the GlitterFlex as directed, continue stitching the rest of the design elements.
Imagine how pretty it would be to use GlitterFlex for the butterflies in this 4th of July Butterfly Napkin Rings from Embroider Shoppe.
This 3D Patriotic Heart and Star Wreath from Ananda’s Divine Designs would be even more stunning if embroidered using GlitterFlex.
Make your embroidery sparkle like nothing else when you use GlitterFlex in your applique and freestanding projects.
