Hydro-stick is a self adhesive tear-away backing. It is useful for embroidering articles that are difficult to hoop in the usual way. Hydro-stick lets you stick and secure articles without having to hoop them.
Use Hydro-stick instead of peel & stick backings and messy adhesive sprays. It leaves no gummy residue on needles, hoops or machine parts. It is an environmentally friendly, natural adhesive that easily washes off leaving no stain. You can re-moisten a few times to reposition your fabric, if necessary.
It allows you to embroidery odd-shaped items and hold down slippery fabrics. Also you will not have any hoop marks, as the backing is hooped, not the fabric. Great for velvets, towels, silks, knits, vinyl, leather and any material requiring a better hold. This specialized backing is designed for those hard-to-hoop items such as baby socks, neck ties, and bags.
How to use Hydro-Stick
To use, hoop the stabilizer with the adhesive (shiny) side up. Lightly moisten the adhesive with an even, light application. You do not need a lot of water! A damp sponge, rag, foam paint brush, spray or stamp roller moistener will suffice. Smooth the item onto the stabilizer. Once the item is embroidered, cut away the excess. You can easily reposition your item by pulling it off, reapplying a little more moisture, and then reattaching the item.
Hydro-Stick can also be used as a traditional tear-away on difficult materials such as soft or loose knits. Just activate adhesive, stick to article, hoop as you normally would and tear away when finished - it's that easy.
Hydro-Stick is completely safe and does not gum up needles or contaminate machines.
