I truly love your thread! It makes such a beautiful difference in my quilts! --m.j.
So many of us rely on online retailers. I'm living in the Middle East right now, and very, very few embroidery supplies are available here. I just want to praise the customer service at Superior Threads. I knew they had a good product but their customer service is simply outstanding. I will be a customer for life, and I'm singing their praises to anyone who wants to listen. Thank you Superior Threads! A happy, happy customer. m.j.
I love your thread. I was introduced to it at a quilt show in Seattle this last summer, and it is wonderful. Thank you for making such a durable, beautiful and easy to work with product. Your variegated threads are amazing and every quilt I use them on looks wonderful. Thank you thank you thank you!
I just wanted to let you know that I used the variegated silver metallic thread on my longarm over the weekend. It worked great and my customer loved her quilt. -- c.l.
I have just finished machine quilting three quilts using your Highlights threads and what a dream that has been. You are right, they are much stronger than rayon and work beautifully at high speeds. I was recently in a class and everyone was very impressed as I pulled out my big spools of thread and plunked them down on the table and then proceeded to sew. Thanks again for great quality. I can hardly wait for more colors to come out in the Highlights line.
I just wanted to say thanks, I used your "Nitelite" threads (green and pink) on my daughters witch costume for Halloween. I did a black widow and web in the green and the spider's hour glass in pink. Now they can see her at night and it looks cool too. - s.b.
I purchased the snowflake and angel patterns and have been stitching them out with Superior Threads Glitter hologram thread in pearl color. They are fantastic and stitch out without any thread breakage using a size 11 Organ needle. I originally tried stitching out in another brand but had thread breakage problems that made them impossible to do. Just thought I would pass this along - no affiliation with Superior Threads. Just was so pleased with the results. - c.d.
I just had to tell you this story. Yesterday, I was trying to do some free motion in gold metallic thread on a wall hanging. After throwing away a spool of -x- and a spool of -y-, I reached for my trusty Superior. No more breakage problems and the wall hanging looks great! Thanks for a terrific product. Please don't ever change it! – b.c.#Aug 01 02
I had given up on metallic threads long ago. I quit trying because I had so much trouble with thread breaking and I was just substituting gray for silver, rust for copper, yellow for gold, etc. Then I read something in these postings about Superior Metallics so I decided to try them. I have just stitched out the detailed design and it is exquisite!!! When I started the Metallics, I held my breath and didn't leave my Bernina 170 for a minute. I couldn't believe it NEVER BROKE ONCE!! I'm a believer now! I had ordered the gold, silver, and copper just to try them, but now I'm ordering a lot of the other colors! – h.c.#Feb 08 02
I bought some of your silver metallic thread to do a wallhanging. Your thread never broke during the heavy duty embroidery and the wallhanging will be hung at the special From the Heart exhibit in Houston. I am attaching three photos for you. I was thrilled with the way the thread stitched out. – d.k.#Feb 08 02
I just wanted to write and compliment you on your wonderful site and wonderful thread. I think I first bought your thread a few years ago in Vegas. I still buy it when I go to the MEEC. My dealer here in West Jordan also carries it. I just ordered some of the Rainbow thread. What great thread!! It most certainly is not like the other variegated I have tried. I also love your metallics. Keep up the good work. A very happy customer. – d.u.

Today I was first able to use the gold metallic thread I purchased from you. It was so wonderful! I can't say enough good things about it. I have NEVER been able to keep metallic thread from breaking, so I'm thrilled. Many thanks! –s.w.#Jul 18 01
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your informative e-mail newsletters. I always appreciate advice on what to use for my embroidery. There's so much to learn. Thanks again for taking the time to keep us informed and providing great products. - w.m.
I promised ya'll I'd try to get your threads in a local store so I could have access to them. Well, my local store bought the line, and I now have all but three or four. I LOVE those metallics. My Artista would not hardly sew with the competition's offerings, but I can even use it with your threads. Am now spreading the word in North Carolina where I'm teaching thread art classes. Keep up the good work! - s.g.
I just wanted to say to Steve Butler... YOU PROMISED!!!! And you kept your promise! I met Steve at the Expo a couple of weeks ago. I made this man promise within an inch of his life that his metallic threads would not break. And he has held true to his promise. I just finished two Mother's Day gifts, and just to let you all know, the metallic thread did not break once! In my eyes, this is Pure Heaven!!! Thank you for finally making a metallic thread that my embroidery machine loves! - l.t.
I'm getting LOTS of compliments on the thread (oh, and the quilting, too!). I used the Perfect Quilter and it's luscious! I REALLY love your thread - no problems with breakage AT ALL (well, except when it was my fault), and very nice to use. Knowing me, I'll probably be ordering the full palette soon! - k.w.
Hi I was just at the AQS show this past weekend and purchased 2 cones of thread. I just had to write to tell you just how wonderful my new thread is!! I purchased the Perfect Quilter colors Jungle Fever and Vineyard for my longarm machine. These threads are beautiful!! Thank you for such wonderful thread, I have had lots of problems with the competition's thread. Their thread was breaking on me every few inches, but not your thread!! – n.m.#May 21 01
I too am very happy with the results that I've obtained with your thread. It certainly has earned the name Superior as far as I'm concerned. – a.g.#Mar 11 01
I want to share with you the best metallic threads I have ever used - Superior Threads. I do a lot of machine quilting and these threads never break for me and they are beautiful! I am not affiliated with the them, just a very happy customer. Check them out. They are also so very nice to deal with. - j.v.
Thank you so much for sending the thread. It is just beautiful! We were gone last week and when we arrived home I went through all of the mail, etc. I took the thread to bed with me that evening to really look at the colors. My husband said, "I think this is a bit much you bringing thread to bed. I don't bring my nails!" - b.p.
Hello all!
I just had the opportunity to try some new threads from Superior Threads. The first I tried was called Rainbows. It is a polyester (not spun) high sheen variegated thread with a short repeat at 1.5" the effect is wonderful. I was given a sample of a light pastel and used it on a teal green and purple fabric. It picked up the colors in the fabric with a translucent shimmering effect. Can you say yum! I did get a few loopies on the back at first. To prevent this I inserted a paper gasket in my bobbin case and have been running trouble free ever since! The 2nd I tried was the Perfect Quilter. I was somewhat hesitant to use this as I was afraid it was thick like Jeans stitch but it is not and ran just like it was named...Perfect! It is sew much fun to be getting these lovely variegated threads and even more fun when they don't cause unnecessary un-picking! No affiliation yadda, yadda, etc.. Just wanted you to know of my experience. s.d. |
Hi. I just did a T-shirt with a lot of lettering and designs. Did the whole design with Superior Threads metallic threads. Not one break, shred, or tear. Really the best I've found. c.d.
I bought Superior Threads' Glitter assortment pack and have just loved it. I have an almost identical looking thread from another company which shreds and breaks right and left. As an experiment, I tried switching back and forth between the two brands, stitching the same design (the exact same part of the design on the same fabric). The other brand knotted up but the Superior Glitter thread did not. I was impressed. Looking at the threads on the spools, the threads look identical although the spool shape is different. I don't know the technical difference but something sure is.
Just a quick note to share the fantastic experience I've been having with the Superior Metallics and Glitter. I've stitched out Mary Englebreit's Hello Santa on Royal Blue Velveteen; Santa and the Toys (Bernina used in Advertising Campaign- Black decorated robe) on Red Velveteen; the Candy Cane on red velveteen; the Quilt Square with the Smiling Snowman-enlarged on Black sparkle cotton; the Believe Santa on Spruce Green Velveteen. I used from 50% to 85 % of the Superior metallics in stitching these designs - ME designs take from 30K to 49K stitches with metallic stitching on metallic! This thread took the stitching beautifully and give a wonderfully glowing look to ME's work! Making gift bags, door knockers, door pillows, gift ornaments for the holidays. If working with metallics has been a horror for you, then don't give up before you've tried the Superior Threads. Several embroiderers have talked about Superior before but working with this thread has exceeded all expectations. -- s.s.
I just want to let you know that I LOVE Superior Metallic thread. I digitize and go through a lot of thread. I normally avoid metallic thread because of all the problems, breakage, etc..... I thought I would give it a try because of all the good things I have read about this thread. I am currently using the Glitter and the regular metallic and it doesn't break or fray and the Glitter has an incredible look! They both have completely changed my attitude about metallic thread. Thanks again for offering such a quality product! j.m.

I purchased your Glitter Thread at the Sewing. It is the best! I have received many compliments regarding the designs that have been embroidered with your thread and just thought you would like to know how pleased I am with this product. -- M.H.
I absolutely love that gold metallic thread you sent me. I thought the color was flashy, but it is awesome. Tried it on a challenge quilt I am doing, and it worked out great, did an embroidery design, did not use a metallic needle, maybe an 80 cannot remember, and it only broke once. You earned your superior thread name. -- B.N.
Can I adopt you as relatives? Keep up the good job.
I've enjoy sewing with your Glitter thread and amazed that it never breaks. Thanks again.--D.K.
You have the best metallics I have found and hope everyone get theirs from you. Yours don't break no matter how old the needle or how many hours I spend at the machine. Your thread is the greatest. -T.T.
I finally had time to use the silver metallic you sent last week. Used a lacy, cathedral window type design on 2 layers of solvy (no fabric), held my breath for 27 minutes of sewing; not one breakage and the design was perfect. Can't say enough good things about your thread. Have said this on the Artista list and will also post on the HATS list. You'll be getting more orders from me. G.L.
I bought some of your gold metallic thread and it is wonderful! I have used it in my Brother single-head 12-needle machine. It did not break once. Just wanted to let you know how happy I am with it. --T.F.
I used to HATE to embroidery with metallic until I met the guys from Superior Threads. I just cannot say enough about how great that Superior Metallic thread sews and everyone that I have talked to agrees. I don't need a special needle. It is so soft and just so beautiful that now it is fun to embroidery with it. It sews just like my other thread now. I will certainly be having a lot more glitter in my designs from now on. This thread is a bargain
I just finished some needlelace using the gold metallic and as you educated us at MEOW seminar it truly does not bread during the stitching. I put it in the bobbin as well as the top since it is seen on both sides and it worked so well I am still amazed. I always tried to do things in gold as that is my favorite, but was so frustrated with the thread so gave it up...I think I will throw the old "stuff" away...and bury my frustrations. Thanks again for the samples ....I know you will get some customers....L.
I just thought that I would share a pretty valuable lesson (for me) I have learned about sewing with metallic thread. The quality of the metallic thread and how it is made makes all the difference in the world about how it sews. We had a wonderful class at the Indiana Machine Embroidery Retreat taught by Steve Butler from Superior Threads. Many that had purchased his thread at the LV Retreat were raving about it in Indiana. His thread is just gorgeous. When I stitched out my design with his thread that I got at the Retreat I was so amazed that it worked just like he said that it did. I used the Glitter - did NOT use any special needle -- just my trusty organ needle used for almost all stitching. It stitched the entire time with no tangles, and NO thread break. I have never had that kind of results with any metallic thread although some brands are definitely more user friendly than others. I as well as others am definitely sold on the Superior Metallic Threads.

I have to agree with you about the quality of thread Superior Threads carries. I purchased a couple of spools of their thread, and it's high-quality at a good price. I also want to mention their product "Dissolve" it comes on large rolls (in a convenient width for our machines), the price is exceptionally good, and the product is virtually identical to Solvy. I purchased a 6" wide roll and am very pleased with it. I will purchase it again when I run low, it's a great buy. In no way am I affiliated with this company, I just happen to be a satisfied customer. --T.B.
Your thread is great and I am having a great time sewing with them. --T.A.
I just wanted to let you know that I ordered Dissolve on a 6" roll from you a little over a month ago. I have been using it since, and I will definitely be re-ordering when I run out. The size is perfect for my 4x4 embroidery field, and, the price was the best for this type of stabilizer I have been able to find. The performance of the product is virtually identical to the far more expensive name brand one, and I believe it is probably a better buy than the dissolvable hospital laundry bags other people buy. I look forward to trying some of your threads too! Thanks! --T.B.
Bought gold metallic thread at the MEEC in Las Vegas. It is terrific! Can't believe that it does not break! And the finished results are gorgeous! I am telling all my embroidering friends about your thread. --J.D.
I just want to pass on to you that there is a company in Utah that has the most fantastic metallic thread that you will ever find. I wanted to tell you because I think that you are one of the few very good dealers around and just maybe you would be interested in carrying his product in your store if you don't already. It is Superior Threads. With this thread I have been able to use a regular needle to sew with it and just like those that had purchased it from him at other retreats said -- it just doesn't break. They have a super product. It is by far the best metallic that any of us have ever found. When I know about a good product I love to pass it on so others can take advantage of it also. --C.O.
I was at the Las Vegas Convention and bought both your Sparkle and Glitter threads and have to tell you that they sew beautifully. I had also bought several spools of another brand from another company and had a terrible time with breakage of their thread, no matter what I tried, from different needles to looser tension to different thread holders, etc. so it was indeed a joy to discover how wonderful your threads sewed without having to use special needles, etc. Thank you. Your quality product has made me a customer. --N.P.
I wanted to tell you I used several of the glitter threads I bought from you in the kit last week. They worked great. I'm usually leery of the metallics. Didn't have any problems at all. I'll use more now that I've found some good ones. --S.O.

I especially love those big cones of the variegated metallic. I have found so many uses and they stitch so well.
