Santa is just 50 cm tall (20 in) and is done in your 5x7 hoop. He has many duties over the Christmas Season - he could stand in your door or window, keep an eye on the gifts under the tree, or be placed anywhere in the house to help get everyone into the festive spirit. He can also be a toy of course, or a gift to a special person.
This project is a combination of applique and 'proper' embroidery. For best results stitch over a layer of Mylar. Parts are done in your 5x7 hoop and sewn together by machine. The assembled front part is used as a template for the backing. All that is left to do is the stuffing and adding the bottom.
