Riitta Kangas lives in Orivesi, in the middle of Finland. She started her sewing hobby when she was just two years. She found a threaded needle and took her father’s sock and darned it under the kitchen table. Well, the darning definitely wasn’t very pleasant under her father’s foot, but he proudly kept the sock!
Later Riitta became an engineer in textile and clothing technology and her skills in her sewing hobby certainly improved. Even her surname "Kangas" translated to English, means "cloth", funny how families work.
Riitta's her main goal with her embroidery is to digitize technically perfect designs. She also loves to draw, and most of her designs are her own original artwork. |

Riitta owns Tanssiva Lanka / Dancing Thread, which is in Finland registered company. She sells embroidery threads, stabilazers and designs at her webstore. Riitta has also a collection of children’s formal clothes called “Kirsikankukka” (“Cherry blossom”).
In the middle of the rush and hurry of her life, Riitta still manages to relax and keep her mind creative and open, with yoga and dancing. | |
