(Click here for our Windows XP Guide)
You can become totally confident with Windows and the Internet in a very short time. It really doesn't take long ... I've isolated 3 main skills that you need to master to be totally competent on your computer. I concentrate on teaching you those 3 SECRETS in the first half of this book. You'll learn heaps of useful and practical techniques in a step-by-step way to help you take full control of your computer. The second half of the book deals with using the Internet and making it work for you. It does NOT have to be a frustrating experience!
By the way - I only use SIMPLE English - you'll find wherever there is computer terminology it's in italics and appears in the glossary as well. You can actually read and understand this book if you don't know anything about computers!

Testimonials
Secrets of Taming Computers has benefited thousands of people. Here's a sample of some of the letters that I receive every week.
I have used your book time and time again. I've also passed it along to several of my friends, who have found it like a blessing. I really do admire all the time that it must have taken you to compile this. Regular computer books are like reading something from outer space. Thanks again.

I really like your book. I wish I had it several years ago when my rocket scientist (the real thing) was trying to teach me how to use my computer. . Of course I wanted to know HOW to do what I wanted to do on the computer and he wanted insisted on telling me why it did what I wanted it to, how the computer worked, etc. I kept telling him my brain's 'hard drive' was full and I only had so much 'Ram' I could use at a time. Of course it would take a REAL teacher and a woman at that to tell it like it really is! Thanks!

I think I am coming to grips with this monster thanks to your book, mind you I sometimes have my doubts about it. Have just ordered your new book and downloaded it (whew) "Secrets of Microsoft Word (Part 1). Earlier this week I downloaded Carolyn Kebers Buzz Tools and File Utility so am slowly progressing. Many thanks for all your help so far and your book is always beside me. Lorraine
I have read the book from beginning to end and found it very helpful. I did pick up a number of tips and have used them. However, as the book was bought for my Dear Hubby, who really does need the book. The "Taming your computer" book gave me the confidence I lacked to do the things Windows Explorer can do. I am sure DH will feel the same way. I have a Singer XL1000 sewing/embroidery machine and needed to know how to download and organize designs better. Reading the book gave me the confidence to be able to do it. I now have files and folders with everything organized. You would be proud of me LOL. I drag and drop, right mouse click and use other short cuts with great ease. By the way I will be 66yrs old next birthday. Learning all this new stuff is OK as long as you do it a little at a time. Now if anyone wants to know how to iron for six with flat irons, light a fire from scratch, sew by hand or use a hand cranked washing or sewing machine, etc, etc., it will be my turn to write a book. However, I am not holding my breath for it to happen. LOL One has to progress or get left behind. Thanks Sheila Clarke
