Pfaff PC Designer - Downloading Designs

(1)    Download Design File and Save to a designated folder.

(2)    Open Pfaff PC-Designer software - either Start / Programs / PC-Designer for Windows

or double click the Pcd_win icon on the Desk Top

(3)    Select File Menu / Open, or the File Open button

This opens the Open File dialog box

If the desired file name is not showing in the File Name list, Select the drive from the Drivers: drop-down list -
  • C: typically the hard -drive

  • A: typically the 3½" floppy drive

  • D: typically the CD drive etc…

Select the Folder from the Folders: box - double click to open  each folder and sub-folder.

Select the File Name: double click or OK to open Note: PC-Designer will open Pfaff *.PCS (frame), *.PCQ (MAXI),  *.PCD (9mm), plus *.DST, *.KSM and *.EXP file types.

(4)    Your design will now be displayed in the Work Area. To cancel the  highlighting of the design, right mouse click (or Esc).

(5)    Set-up your Pfaff embroidery machine (7570 or 7560) up for  Hoop Embroidery (see Pfaff Embroidery Unit Instruction Manual  pages 8 to 10 for further info) -

  • With the sewing machine turned OFF, attach the Embroidery  Unit.

  • Insert a Pfaff Blank Creative Card

  • Lower the Feed Dogs, attach the Embroidery Foot and insert  an Embroidery Needle.

  • Hoop your fabric and engage the hoop in the Embroidery Unit.

  • Plug the Pfaff cable into the appropriate Com port in the back of your Computer and connect the other end into the sewing machine.

  • Turn the sewing machine ON

Now you are ready to send the design file from the computer to the  Blank Creative Card in the sewing machine.

(6)    Select Machine Menu / Send Card Stitch option, or Send Card Stitch button

(7)    This small "Saving the stitch on the Card" screen will show the  design being transferred with a percentage bar. Plus the screen of  the sewing machine will show an outline of a sewing machine and  computer being connected.

If you get the 'No Communication' dialog box - go to the Pfaff Website  - http://www.pfaff-us-cda.com select ABOUT PFAFF, select FAQ  and click on 'Machine - Computer On-Screen Error Messages'.  Print this info out and go though the check list.

(8)     At the sewing machine - press the card key. The sewing machine display will show the designs on the card by  Icon.

Select the design by pressing the number key below the design icon  - for this design key 1 or 2.

(9)    This next screen gives you a check list for the embroidery set-up.  Check through the list and press o.k. key.

(10)    The Embroidery Unit will now move into position and the next screen  shows the selected design, plus number of thread color changes  and design size in millimetres. For more info - Embroidery Unit Instruction Manual p20 to 23.

Tip: Press key 7 to turn the design 90° - now the design is facing the  right way!

(11)     Thread the machine with embroidery thread for color 1 and embroider  your design. Happy Embroidering!
