Create Lettering on Caps Step-by-Step Tutorial and Video for PE Design V8   by Carolyn Keber This PE Design/Palette tutorial was written and videoed in response to a question that Carolyn was asked about changing the sewing order on caps. Caps stitch in a manner that a line of stitching starts to stitch in the center of a cap and then stitches backwards towards the left side. Once finished the machine would then move back to the center once more and then complete the stitching by stitching to the right. Prior to December 2008 Carolyn had not seen this in use before but while on holiday in Hawaii she bought a cap at a specialty cap shop and had some lettering embroidered on it in order to remember the holiday! The cap was embroidered in this manner. Carolyn (who is always fascinated watching others!) watched the guy create the lettering in his software program and then watched as he stitched it on his commercial machine. The cap started stitching at the centre of the cap and stitched first towards the left. Then it returned to the center and stitched to the right side. So when she was asked about how to do this in PEDS, Carolyn knew immediately how it could be done, having had seen it in operation herself. In this tutorial you will be shown how to achieve the same result in PE Design/Palette – but with different wording than that which is on Carolyn's cap (pictured above). J This tutorial is suitable for anyone with PE Design/Palette from V5 through to V8. Although this tutorial was videoed and written using V8 software the same commands are used from Version 5 through to Version 8. The only thing you might notice if you have a version other than Version 8 is a slightly different appearance in some of the screens. Other than this everything else will work the same.
