Installing Customising PLUS with Windows XP

The Husqvarna Viking Customising Plus comes with a USB dongle. Like all hardware it requires a driver. This is automatically installed from your Customising Plus CD during installation.
However, if the CD that you have received when you purchased your software was created before XP became available it will not contain the correct driver for Windows XP. If you are running Windows95/98/2000 or ME you should have no problems as the drivers for these platforms are on the Customising CD.
If you have Windows XP and you follow the steps in the installation you will get "Dongel not Found" messages when you try to open the Customising VIP. The icons will be on your desktop and most will open but you will be locked out of the Customising VIP section.
You will need to download an XP driver from the Internet and install it on your computer before installing Customising PLUS.
If you have already installed Customising PLUS then you will need to uninstall it. Make sure that you remove Customising PLUS by using the Add/Remove option.
To find this look in Start/Settings/Control Panel

Click on the Add/Remove Programs

Highlight VIP Customising

Click Remove
-
Click YES on the prompt "Are You Sure"
Remove the dongel if it is still attached to the computer.
The drivers have been relocated to the Husqvarna Viking or Pfaff websites.
Go to the website www.husqvarnaviking.com or www.pfaff.com
Select your country
Select the HelpDesk option.
VIP software updates and downloads are available directly under the VIP software link on the Help Desk page.
3D users will need to go the the 3D FAQ page and enter the FAQ reference number H013 to access the dongel driver download.
