Carolyn's new tutorial has been created for the ExpressDesign Wizard found in both the 4D Embroidery Extra and in the 4D Design Creator module. It is suitable for both Pfaff and Husqvarna Versions of 4D Embroidery Extra.   This is a DVD version of the ExpressDesign Wizard downloadable tutorial.  It overlaps some of the same information as in the tutorial but with different designs. In this DVD the emphasis is on editing the initial image using Microsoft Paint to ensure the image will digitize easily in the ExpressDesign Wizard. Several examples are used where the original image needs to be considerably reworked so that the image will digitize successfully. A simple shape is digitized using the different fabric settings so that you can see the effects that each setting will create. If you already have the downloadable text tutorial on the ExpressDesign Wizard this DVD will complement it and extend your knowledge of this module of 4D Embroidery Extra or 4D Design Creator. See how to scan in an image into paint and alter and check the image  to make sure that it will create a good design. Follow through the steps in the Express embroidery wizard  " Fit to hoop option" to make this image into a design. Find out how to alter the image in Paint so that the "fit to size" option will produce a successful design. In the above exercise the image needs extensive alteration to make a design.   This image is turned into a satin stitch design.   The image used for the rose design needed to be cropped, rotated and edited to make this rose design.   An example of using the "select ALL background color tool" to create a design that has open areas inside of it.   This exercise demonstrates how to cut out a section of an image that you would like to work with and how to save it as a new image using Microsoft Paint.  Find out what each option in the "fabric settings" tool will do to your final design.
