Bias Teardrop Blouse Tutorial
Hope has taught this lovely Bias Teardrop Insert Blouse lesson at Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion in Huntsville and now she is making this project available through her Elegant Endeavors series. The tutorial includes color-step-by-step photos for each technique listed below, along with three machine embroidery designs. Spaghetti Bias tubing is used to create a simple and elegant blouse. You can use the same techniques and embroidery designs to create your own bed linens, handkerchiefs and table runners if you would rather create something for your home.
The tutorial includes an 8 page color step-by-step PDF file outlining the following techniques:
-
Sources for the V-neck Shirt Pattern & trims
-
Using machine embroidery to create a teardrop shaped sheer windowpane
-
Using Roxanne's Glue-Baste-It for a "No Fail" technique
-
Shaping Spaghetti Bias Tubing around a V-neck shirt
-
Shaping Spaghetti Bias into curves and miter
-
Using Spaghetti Bias as a hemming technique on sleeves
-
Traditional lace-shaped bow using heirloom lace insertion
-
Pinstitching with a large eyed needle
-
Bridging tatting to finished edges and much more
Although this is a project for a ladies blouse, you could use the techniques and embroidery designs on projects for your home. Blouse pattern is not included with this project; however pattern sources are given in the PDF file. 4x4" and 5x7" embroidery hoop required.
