Combining appliqué and embroidery, these made completely in the 5x7 hoop Thread Catchers are so useful for taking to class, having next to your sewing or embroidery machine, or if you do handwork while travelling.
When you have clipped a bit of thread off, just 'throw' it towards your open Thread Catcher, and if at least some of the thread gets to the catcher, that is where it will stay. Fold your Thread Catcher over and take it home from class, or to the bin to clean.
Your Thread Catcher will be lovely and soft when complete because you will be removing virtually all the stabilizer during construction. All that will remain is fabric, batting and stitches.
