This set is suitable for the Brother Large Hoop (6½ x 10½ inch or 160 x 260mm) and the Viking Designer 1 Large Hoop (6 x 9½ inch or 150 x 240mm).
There are five designs in this set - three different basket shapes and two handles. The designs are made in the hoop using water soluble Vilene, stiffened craft felt and your choice of fabric. Each piece is stipple quilted and finished with a satin stitch edge.
They make great treat baskets for Easter, birthdays or just about any special occasion. Use holiday themed fabrics and decorations to customize the baskets to suit the particular event. Also useful as nifty holders for everyday items.
Everyday Baskets Instructions
Embroider your basket and handle pattern pieces using two layers of water soluble Vilene. Baskets are made from stiffened craft felt with pretty fabric appliquéd and stipple quilted on top of the felt.
Once the pattern pieces are ready, punch through the eyelets with your eyelet punch. Excess Vilene on the edges can be wiped away with a damp cloth.
Thread ribbon through basket corners to create the basket shape.
Add small blobs of fabric glue to the handle ends and place inside or outside the basket, depending on your preference. Hold in place with clothes pegs until the glue dries.
Decorate the baskets with beads, crystals, silk flowers, novelty buttons ... the options are endless.
