Patricia Timmins was born in Mexico City, married an Irishman, and then emigrated to South Africa in 1984. She has two daughters. Patricia has given classes and led workshops in smocking and embroidery in Mexico, Ireland, England and South Africa. In 1987, she started her own smocking company and published her first book in 1997 called Let's Smock it. She has several smocking articles published in Australia, England, South Africa and the United States.
After 2 decades of teaching hand embroidery and after 6 years of digitizing, it took a magnificent bouquet of Lilies to lure her into embarking on a new venture. Patricia loves challenges and those Lilies inspired her to recreate them in a 3D form. Since then she has started a new company called Embroidery Connection to distribute her machine embroidery designs, including her 3D Roses, Irises, Pansies and other flowers. Patricia uses Artista Software V4 and all her designs are tested carefully by her testers in South Africa, England and herself. Patricia's motto in life is "Imagination is the only true limit in life".
