Artista Mini-Lesson 6: 3D Lace Star     Skills to be mastered in this project:  Learn a new lace fill technique (the open circle).  Learn to digitize for stand-alone lace (embroider on water soluble stabilizer and you're left with just the stitches!)  Learn how to turn this 'flat star' into a 3-D star for the top of your tree.  Learn to create a new fill pattern: the open circle. This Artista Mini Lesson is the sixth project in the series.  It takes some practice, but it gives your embroidery a special, unique look. See how to create several designs out of this one pattern: a 3-D star, star ornaments of different sizes that can be hung as ornaments or used to decorate gifts. Learn my trick to embroidering metallic ornaments that look great on both sides! This design is intended to be stitched on a water soluble stabilizer so that you are left with just the 'lace' star--learn some of the tricks of how to digitize for this special application.
