Following are some photos of the completed bibs showing how beautiful they look.

Instructions for Making the Bibs

These bibs are done completely in your machine hoop (must be 6x8" or larger), you can use any fabric you choose to make them.  Hoop the fabric of your choice and choose a bib design.

The bib designs sew out in 3 steps, you can stop the designs after any of the steps....

Step 1) A running stitch outline is sewn around the outside edge of the bib and neckline

Step 2) The embroidered designs are sewn in the center of the bib

Step 3) The final satin stitch outline is sewn around the outer edge and neckline.

There are a few different ways you can sew the designs out, here are 4 options.

Option 1

Hoop your fabric and complete step 1, 2 and 3.  Then remove your bib from the hoop and cut around the edge carefully.

Option 2

Hoop your fabric and complete step 1 and 2, now float another piece of fabric under the hoop and entire design.  This fabric will be your lining.  Now you can complete step 3.  Remove your bib and cut around the edges.

Option 3

Complete step 1 and 2 and then float the lining fabric under the hoop and entire design.  Now repeat step 1.  Cut the fabric on top of the stabilizer and the lining fabric below the stabilizer, carefully around the outline stitches.  Now you can complete step 3 and you have a complete bib that just needs the stabilizer removing from the hoop.

Option 4

This way is how the first bib in the above pictures with Baby on it was made.  Complete Step 1, Step 2 and most of Step 3, stop the satin stitch before it sews around the neck edge.  Remove bib from hoop and cut around the edge leaving a border of fabric and a seam allowance around the outside edge.  Cut another piece of fabric the same size for the lining.  Now add gathered lace between the lining and the bib and turn the bib through the neck.  You can finish the neck edge off with either a satin stitch or a piece of ribbon or bias binding.  Burn the excess frays.

When cutting around the outer satin edge of the design you need to be very careful that you don't cut the stitches.  You can use a soldering iron to burn the excess frays as well.
