1. Hoop the hand towel of you choice. I have used a hemstitched linen towel. I have also drawn some guidelines with wash-away ink. |

2. Embroider the first sequence. |

3. If you are planning to embroider in the cutout area, place a piece of water-soluble stabilizer in over the stitched outline. Place the fabric for the cutout area over the stabilizer. |

4. Embroider the second sequence.
5. Trim the excess fabric and stabilizer around the outline. |

6. Turn the hoop over, and trim the bottom stabilizer and bottom fabric from inside the cutout area. |

If you are sewing as an appliqué, you can skip this step. |

7. Embroider the rest of the design. |
|
|
8. If desired, embroider a design in the cutout area. If you have the ability to combine designs, it is easiest to combine the designs before you start so that you don’t have to worry about placement.
9. Trim threads, wash stabilizer away, and iron. Your towel is now complete. |
