Xmas Stocking
Christmas Stocking
Christmas Stocking by My Fair Lady
Embroidered Stocking Directions
1. With right sides of fabric together, cut two pieces of fabric to the stocking shape of your choice. I have used a pattern from Martha Stewart. It can be found at the following link: http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=channel185344&contentGroup=MSL&site=living
 |
2. With the right side of stocking facing up, fold over the top portion of the stocking to your desired cuff length. Embroider design on the wrong side of the fabric. If your fabric has an obvious, unattractive wrong side, you will have to sew the cuff separately. |
 |
3. On the right side of the fabric, embroider design under cuff. |
 |
4. Put the right sides of the stocking together and cut a small notch where the cuff will fold over. |
 |
5. Sew or serge from one notch, around the foot, and up to the other notch. Turn the stocking right side out, and sew/serge from the notch to the top of the stocking on each side.
6. Finish the edge of the cuff with a hem or other stitch. |
 |
7. If desired, attach lace, fringe or other embellishment to right side of cuff.
8. Turn stocking right side out, fold down cuff, and press. |
