In The Hoop Mitten Directions

1

Cut your fabric as per these guidelines given:  Based on a 5x7 hoop, cut a little larger for larger hoop design.

2

Hoop stabilizer.  Load Coordinating thread.  Start machine for placement mitten outline.

3

Using 505 adhesive, spray back of BOOT BOTTOM FABRIC and adhere to stabilizer just above where the mitten meets the mitten cuff.

5

Then, place cuff material below where the mitten meets the mitten cuff.  Start machine so that placement stitch will run.  Remove HOOP from machine,
DO NOT REMOVE PROJECT
 FOR HOOP ITSELF!!!!!

6

Trim CUFF FABRIC 1/4" from sewn line as close as you can withOUT cutting into the placement stitch.  Place back in machine and start.  A zig-zag tack down stitch will go first followed by a satin stitch.

Note: If you purchased any of the mittens from Threads that Bind us with embroidery designs on them,  this is where the design would stitch out.  After it has completed, follow the remainder of instructions.

7

Place RIBBON with loop towards the mitten finger tips and tape into place.  I taped the loop in place as well so that it would not shift.

8

Place BACK FABRIC #2 from indention where cuff meets mitten, then put BACK FABRIC #1 1/8" overlapping ironed crease of BACK FABRIC #2.

10

Hold down BACK FABRIC #1 once you start so that your foot will go over the seam under it.  Start the machine for a double outline stitch.  Remove hoop and project from hoop.  Cut 1/8" from double sewn outside line.

9

Clip corners and turn inside out.  Take your time and get all corners nice and sharp.  Gently press if you need too.

Your Ornament is now ready to hang and will look like the one pictured at the top of the page.  You can store items inside the mitten and use as a decoration.
