3D Stitch Artist - Creating & Using Maxi Stitches (tutorial 3)

This is the third tutorial in Carolyn's Stitch Artist series and it deals with Maxi Stitches. The tutorial contains 30 pages of information on maxi stitches from using the included machine stitches on your own machine, to making new maxi stitches through techniques like altering stitches and using them as a base for new designs, through to creating an entirely new maxi stitch from an image on quilting fabric.

Carolyn discusses the advantages of the auto trace tool and its limitations and how to get a better quality stitch through manual stitching. The tutorial includes 4 examples taking you through the lessons step-by-step with screen shots to explain things on the way. Supporting files to use in the exercises are included with the tutorial.

Carolyn covers these topics:
  • The steps to perfect stitches
  • Creating embroidery designs from maxi stitches
  • Saving a design as a maxi stitch
  • Exporting a design as an embroidery design
  • Creating a larger design
  • Eliminating jump stitches
  • Altering a maxi stitch into an endless design
  • Creating the image
  • Using the 3D Stitch Artist Design wizard with autotrace
  • Adjusting scale and position
  • Using the 3D Stitch Artist Design wizard with manual tracing

VIP Stitch Artist - Creating 9mm Stitches (tutorial 2)

This tutorial contains 4 exercises on creating 9mm designs, using the stitches on the machine and altering them to create new designs. One exercise is using the Stitch Creator on the 2140/44 to create an applique stitch. You will see a good comparison of the differences between Stitch Creator and Stitch Artist.  There are three image files in the zip to show some of the stitches that are created in the tutorial.  Also included is a 9mm file of each stich so they can be examined.  This tutorial follows on to the first Stitch artist tutorial, as it assumes some knowledge of the most basic tools.
